What is the difference between filtering and replacing a GIF color?

A filter treats the full frame by changing saturation, contrast, color balance, or channel mix. It does not target and replace one exact source color throughout the GIF.

Why can a filtered GIF have a different file size?

GIF stores a limited color palette. A new treatment changes the colors needed by the frames, so palette generation can produce a file that is smaller or larger than the source.

Is my GIF uploaded to a server?

No. Preview and export use FFmpeg WebAssembly in your browser. The GIF is not sent to a server-side media-processing API, and no account is required for this local workflow.

What GIF files can I use?
